In the last few years, there has been a renewed focus on wallpaper. Interior designers have been lining walls with pattern and color, adding more than just a coat of paint to beautifully designed rooms. To hang most wallpaper, you need to secure it to the wall with paste, which is a messy process. However, we’ve got some awesome wallpaper in ourshop from Chasing Paper that is removable! Much like contact paper, this wallpaper sticks to surfaces and can be pulled up without damaging your surface. Today, we’re taking Speckle Removable Wallpaper and repurposing it to show you five alternative ways to use this awesome paper. Hang on to your scraps!
Materials:
– Speckle Removable Wallpaper
– tracing paper
Tools:
– cutting mat
– X-ACTO knife
– scissors
– pen
– measuring tape
COMPUTER SKIN
This is a great way to add personality to your computer.
Turn your computer over so that the top is face down on the back side of the wallpaper. Trace around your computer to measure the perfect size. Cut out your wallpaper. Place a piece of tracing paper on top of the computer and outline the apple (or other logo if you don’t have a Mac). Using an X-ACTO knife, cut out the apple.
Then place the tracing paper on top of the wallpaper and trace the apple onto the wallpaper. Make sure you’re on the front side of the wallpaper. Then cut out the apple from the wallpaper. Peel the backing.
Then stick your new skin to the top of your computer, lining up the apples.
Caution: this skin may reduce productivity. It’s so cute you’ll keep shutting your computer!
PATTERN BLOCKED VASE
Update your plain vase by adding a pop of pattern.
Grab a vase and measure the circumference. Then cut out a strip of wallpaper that is the same length.
Peel off the backing and then press the wallpaper to the outside of the vase.
The black and white speckles look so good with colorful flowers!
BOOK COVER
This is a great alternative to old-school paper bag book covers.
Place your book on the back side of the wallpaper and wrap it over the top to determine the size, accounting for the spine. Cut the paper so that there are two-inch margins around all four sides of the book. Peel half of the backing off the wallpaper. Place the book right side up in the center of your wallpaper (on the sticky side), and fold the right edge over the back cover of the book by lifting up the pages.
Peel the rest of the backing, and then wrap the wallpaper over the front of the book, folding and creasing the wallpaper over the edge of the front cover. Cut off the excess wallpaper along the top and bottom of the book, making sure you don’t cut into the book :)

OUTER DRAWER LINER
Lining the inside of a drawer is a great way to use this wallpaper, but we decided to add some to the outer sides of the drawer for a pop of pattern that peeks out when the drawer is open.
Measure the side of your drawer.
Cut a piece of wallpaper using these measurements.
Peel and stick the wallpaper to the drawer, pressing the paper firmly and smoothing out any bubbles.
So stinkin’ cute!
NIGHTSTAND
Take a raw Ikea nightstand and make it your own by adding wallpaper to the top.
Measure the top of your nightstand. Following your measurements, cut out a piece of wallpaper and stick it to the top of the nightstand. If you put it on crooked, don’t worry — you can peel it off and try again.
We wouldn’t mind waking up to this every morning :)
